I am a life-long resident of Jefferson County, Illinois. I have been married for the last 30 years to Cindy (Nadolski) Bevis. We have two daughters that live and work in Jefferson County and Mt. Vernon, plus 6 grand-kids.
I am a member and past-president of our local Elks lodge, and am the financial officer for the the local Sons of the American Legion. I also serve on the Mt. Vernon Historical Preservation Board. I am a past vice-president of the Downtown Mt. Vernon Development Board, a past member of the Board of Directors for the restoration of the historic Granada Theater in downtown Mt. Vernon, and the Mt. Vernon Fall Festival board.
I have worked in the architecture and engineering field since attending Rend Lake College in the late 70’s. I also attended SIU-C where I studied architecture and engineering.
I worked for several architects in this area, FGM, Inc., Watwood & Heavener, Inc., and Architectural Services, and Round Table Design. I have also worked for McCoy and Howard Consulting Engineers, Inc. and Rend Lake Plumbing & Heating Co. Inc. I have experience in construction drawings, specifications, plumbing design, construction management, and my favorite area, 3D computer modelling and design.
In the past few years, I had assisted my wife Cindy, in the operation of her business, Bevis Real Estate LLC. I had my professional real estate license, so that I could help her in the course of her work with the buying and selling public. When she decided that she could better serve her clients by merging her office into the new RE/MAX Elite office, we jumped at this fantastic opportunity. Since she did not need my assistance at that time, we allowed my license to go inactive, but not expire. I have kept up with the real estate business, and when recently, due to the lack of work in my field, and not wishing to relocate from this area, we decided it was time for me to reactivate my license and work with my wife and my new RE/MAX family. I have brought my continuing education up to date, and am now in a position to serve the buying and selling public. I believe that my experience in the construction industry will only help me in the process of helping my clients find the best home for them, or, to get the most out of their homes when they decide to sell them. Plus, I have the best real estate instructor in the area as my guide, my wife Cindy.
I look forward to assisting the members of our community in the search for and process of purchasing their new homes, or the selling of their existing ones. I believe in treating my clients honestly, as if they were a family member, and I subscribe to the Realtor® Code of Ethics. I will do my best to help my clients have the smoothest transition in the buying or selling of their homes.
