I have conducted a transition from 30+ years of military service to our nation with Department of Defense to Real Estate Agent. I joined the RE/MAX team in 2017.
During my tenure in the United States Army from June 02, 1985 thru July 01, 2007, I attained his Bachelor's Degree in Public Management/ Administration with a minor in Electronics Technology from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee. I later achieved a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Miami. My most recent accreditation includes Florida Real Estate Agent, the Anti-Terrorism Level II course, and several additional DoD certifications. I am fluent in Spanish.
During my military career, I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4) I have served in a myriad of leadership positions including SOUTHCOM Targeting Officer, III CORPS and 1st Cavalry Division Targeting Officer. Additionally, Mr. Sosa served with the 101st Airborne Division as Brigade Targeting Officer, Division RADAR acquisition Officer, and RADAR Detachment Commander.
During his enlisted service, Sergeant Sosa served as Platoon Sergeant, Squad Leader, and as Instructor/Writer and trainer in the 1st Infantry Division, 212th FA Brigade, and the Field Artillery School respectively.
In March 2004, I received military reassignment orders to SOUTHCOM bringing me back home to Miami after 18 years abroad. I retired from military service in July of 2017 and transitioned to a civilian career serving our military forces.
I received several distinguished military awards including Joint Meritorious Service Medal, 2 Army Meritorious Service Medals, 5 Army Commendation Medals, and two campaign medals for combat tours During Desert Storm and Operation Joint Forge/Guard (OJF/OJG) in Bosnia Herzegovina as well as the Ancient Order of St. Barbara’s (Patron Saint of the Field Artillery).
Additionally, I served as a Civilian Intel Analyst for Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and later accepted a job as a contractor. I amassed over eight (8+) years of experience with primary responsibility of managing SOUTHCOMs Non-Lethal Weapons (NLW) Program by developing and refining regional NLW strategies and nesting Contingency Planning, Science and Technology (S&T), Public Affairs, and Human Rights activities.
I am a member of the National, Florida, and Miami Association of Realtors. I am also a lifetime member of the United States Warrant Officers Association (USWOA), Disabled Americans Veterans (DAV), American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
I am married to Elizabeth Sosa and have three children and three grandchildren.
