Originally from New Jersey, Gary joined the railroad at 18 years old, and became one of the youngest qualified conductors in the New Jersey/New York area. In 1989, he made the move to Bonita Springs with his wife and daughter. He started a landscape and irrigation business. He did most of his work in luxury home communities for custom home builders. In 2010, he gave up the irrigation business due to a medical hardship.
Gary lives in Fort Myers with his wife, Victoria, and their two cats, Dukie and Lucy. He enjoys golf and boating.
