Terry began his Real Estate career in 1990 and was the Fort Collins Board of Realtors "Rookie of the Year" in 1991. He was the President of the association in 1997-1998.
He was a founding member, part of the first Board of Directors, and the President of the Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation in 1995 and remained an active member of the Foundation until 2000. His work for affordable housing includes being a member of and the past Chairperson for the Colorado Housing Committee, He has also served as the North East District Representative for the Colorado State Association of Realtors.
In 1995 he received a Distinguished Service Award for his efforts with the Colorado Association of Realtors and in 1999 he was named Fort Collins Board of Realtors Realtor of the Year. He remains active in the Residential Sales Council of the National Association of Realtors and has served on the Computer Services Committee of this organization.
He became a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2001 and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from RE/MAX LLC in 2014.
In 2008 Terry purchased RE/MAX St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands and as a non-competing Broker worked diligently to assist his 18 agents in achieving their goals for their career in Real Estate. For these efforts, Terry has been awarded the Latin American and Caribbean Region Broker Owner of the Year in 2010 and RE/MAX International Worldwide Single Office Broker Owner of the Year in 2011. He transferred the office to the agents in 2015
Terry is constantly looking to improve, educate, & grow so that he can better serve his clients. He has been named in Real Trends “Who’s Who in Real Estate” and he holds the MRE (Master in Real Estate), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), TRC (Transnational Referral Certification), IRES (International Real Estate Specialist), EcoBroker, SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist, and GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designations.
He believes in giving back to his chosen profession and has served as a past Director for the Tri-City Education Foundation and served on the Colorado Association of Realtors Education committee. He was member of the faculty for five years and presented many classes all over the State as part of the faculty. The course he co-wrote with John Wendt and Oliver Frascona called “Quickstart” was the standard for training for new agents for a number of years. Many of the agents who attended the five-day class continue to be active Realtors to this day. He has also been a certified mentor for Buffini and Company’s 100 Days to Greatness and Peak Producers training. He is a Department of Regulatory Agency certified vocational instructor for Real Estate licensing classes in Colorado and has taught for the Northern Colorado College of Real Estate for the last five years.
He believes in maintaining a work-life balance. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Diana, and his two daughters, Lisa (and Husband Matt) and the two Grand Children Lauren and her new Brother Jefferey and Julie (and Husband Brad) and their new Daughter Grace.
In addition to continuing has 28 year career helping people buy and sell Real Estate Terry has recently takn on the managing Broker role for the RE/MAX Alliance Downtown and Wellington offices.
