It's all about agent development!
Growing up in a small town in North Texas, Austin’s wonderful mother, Carol, drove endless miles between sporting events. The Crowder family loved the game of football. His father, Don, played at SMU. His brother, Jimmy, and cousin, Billy Joe Tolliver, played at Texas Tech University. Billy went on to have a long career in the NFL. Both of his sisters can still throw a perfect spiral.
A four-year letterman in football for the Demon Deacons, Austin graduated with a BA in Communications from Wake Forest University in 1995. After a short stint in the National Football League (3 whole days), Austin turned his focus back to education, later earning his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, TX.
As a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Dallas, he specialized in individual and small business planning, coached new representatives, and received numerous sales based awards including “Rookie of the Year” honors in 1999.
Growing tired of the scalding Texas summers, he moved his family to Western North Carolina in 2001. Austin joined Coye Consultants, Inc., the nation’s largest distributor of Toro Landscape Contractor Equipment, in March of 2003. In charge of New Business Development, Austin created the new dealer process, from prospecting to making sure new dealers were successful in their first year.
