Geoff Lewis - President
Geoff Lewis, who was named President in May 2015, provides strategic direction on virtually all aspects of the business. He leads the Region Development department, which provides global support to franchises within owned regions and acts as liaison to independent regions. He also oversees Business Development and Franchise Sales for RE/MAX, LLC and Motto Franchising, LLC as well as Recruiting and Retention.
Geoff joined RE/MAX World Headquarters in 2004 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and less than a year later became Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in 2014 and became President in May 2015.
Geoff earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in 1994, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia in 1983 and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 1980.
He practiced law in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions while with the international law firm of Jones Day in Los Angeles.
Geoff was Vice President and General Counsel of American Health Properties (NYSE: AHE) in Denver, Colo., where he dealt extensively with securities regulations, public and private securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and a variety of other related disciplines.
Prior to joining RE/MAX, Geoff was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel for Hyster-Yale, Inc. (NYSE: HY), in Portland, Ore., a multibillion-dollar worldwide manufacturing, marketing and sales company. In that position, he led the company's worldwide mergers and acquisitions efforts.
