RE/MAX International Promotes Contos And Brekken

(Greenwood Village, Colo., February 22, 2006) - Two regional directors of RE/MAX International company operated regions (COR) have been promoted to vice presidents of their respective operations. Adam Contos is now vice president of RE/MAX Mountain States and Nathan "Chip" Brekken has been named vice president of RE/MAX Southwest.

Adam Contos became regional director of the RE/MAX Mountain States Region in September 2005. Prior to that, he served as a senior franchise development consultant. From August 2003 until April 2004, he was an independent contractor for RE/MAX International, creating and conducting S.A.F.E.R., a real estate agent safety training program throughout North America, which he continues to provide as needed.

Prior to his affiliation with RE/MAX, Contos served with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in various positions from April, 1993 until April 2004. He was Lieutenant (Watch Commander) for the Patrol Division and SWAT Tactical Commander from November, 2002 until April, 2004. He also was Sergeant of Court Services and Detentions Division, a Corporal/Investigator, and a Deputy Sheriff. Contos served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1990 until 1996.

The RE/MAX Mountain States region includes more than 4,500 sales associates in 161 offices located in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, North and South Dakota.

Nathan "Chip" Brekken joined RE/MAX as a franchise development consultant for the Southwest region in February 2003 and by June 2004 had been promoted to senior franchise development consultant. He was named regional director in August 2005 and oversees franchising operations in the states of Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

Prior to joining RE/MAX, Brekken worked for Travelers Express/Moneygram, Inc. (a subsidiary of the VIAD Corporation) in St. Louis Park, Minn. beginning as a financial analyst in July 1995. He was promoted to account executive of financial services in March 1998 and relocated to Seattle, Wash. where he was responsible for expanding the account base in the Pacific Northwest, including the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Previous to his affiliation with Travelers, he was an accountant for HealthPartners in Minneapolis.

Brekken was born and raised in Crookston, Minn, and earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992.

The RE/MAX Southwest region covers the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada and includes 4,720 sales associates in 144 franchised offices and was among the top RE/MAX regions for net gain of opened and operating offices in 2005.
