Here's how easy it is to participate:
To locate the Local Qualifying Site in your area, call Long Drivers of America (LDA) toll-free at 888-233-4654 or visit www.longdrivers.com and come out and take your best shot at becoming the 2006 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion.
1. It All Starts With A Local Qualification Event
- Call LDA to locate the Local Qualifying Site in your area or visit www.longdrivers.com
- Contact the golf facility for time of the event.
- You may compete in as many different local events as you wish and enter as many times as you would like, time permitting.
- No pre-registration necessary. Just show up on the day of the event and swing for the fences!
2. Local Winners Advance To District Qualification Events
- Based on participation, up to six local winners advance to the District Qualification Events.
- You may try to qualify in different districts to increase your chances of reaching the finals.
- Depending on number of participants, district format is three rounds, single elimination.
3. Long Drive Competition Guidelines
- All professional and amateur golfers are eligible to compete.
- There are eight competitive divisions*: Open Division (all ages); Senior Division (45 years of age and older); Super Senior Division (55 and older), Women’s Division, and four divisions for Junior Boys and Junior girls (16-18, 13-15, 10-12, 9 and under).
- District winners advance to the World Finals.
- Junior Division Championships are July 14-16, 2006 at Trophy Club, Texas. Although there is no prequalification for this event, pre-registration is necessary.
4. Long Drive Competition Rules
- All competitors will hit Pinnacle Gold Long Drive golf balls, provided at the Local Qualifying Site.
- All golf clubs must conform to U.S.G.A. standards.
- Competition grid will be approximately 40 yards wide and will begin at 250 yards.
- Each competitor must declare amateur or professional status prior to finals competition.**
5. Entry Fees
- Local Qualifying Sites; $40 for six drives for Open Division and Senior Division; $30 for six drives for Women's Division and Super Senior Division. Time permitting, you may try more than once.
- District Qualification Event: $125 for men and women.
- LDA members: $75
- Finals: $100 entry fee. (Fee waived for juniors.) Contestant is responsible for travel expenses.
The finals are held every October in Mesquite, Nev., 80 miles north of Las Vegas. As a finalist, you will join the longest hitters in the world for a spectacular four-day program.
$500,000 Purse - $125,000 for the Open Division Champion

* You may compete in only one division.
** Competitors may accept merchandise and retain amateur status.
All prize money paid in U.S. dollars.
