Richard O. (Dick) Covey, President and Chief Executive Officer, United Space Alliance, LLC, may be best known as an astronaut. He is a veteran of four space shuttle flights, including pilot of the "Return to Flight" mission of Discovery in 1988, following the Challenger accident.
Covey served as commander of the 1993 Endeavour mission to service and repair the Hubble Space Telescope. He was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in May 2004.
In addition to his executive experiences with NASA, the Johnson Space Center, Unisys, The Boeing Company, and United Space Alliance, Covey is the husband of Kathy Covey, former Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Space Center in Houston. Although now retired, Kathy was named RE/MAX Broker/Owner of the year in 2000, and her many experiences in operating a successful RE/MAX franchise became a part of Dick Covey’s experiences as well.
The Covey’s reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
