Cornell University sits "High above Cayuga's Waters" on the east side of Cayuga Lake. There are just under 15,000 undergraduates attending Cornell, not to mention its graduate and specialized programs. It is no doubt a strength in our area. Cornell has helped to push Ithaca NY to be an eclectic Internationally influenced city! The local Wegmans food store has dedicated several isles to international foods. Ithaca's airport also gets a work out.

Ithaca is situated at the southern end of Cayuga Lake. Cayuga Lake is the longest of the Finger Lakes. There are many heavy discussions about which lakes make up the Finger Lakes. The big five running east to west are Skaneatles, Owasco, Cayuga, Seneca, and Canandaigua.

Ithaca is six square miles with about 30,000 residents. Tompkins County, the county where Ithaca "lives" has about 101,000 residents. Ithaca is a small city or a big town and is influenced by three colleges, the Ivy Leagues, Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland Community College. Ithaca is a college town like no other.
