I stopped into Skips Meat Market in the Village today to get their Valentine's Day Special. Two Delmonico steaks, two lobster tails, two twice baked potatoes, and a loaf of garlic bread, all for under $44.00! What a steal. This was my first trip in and it won't be my last. Their meat and variety of homemade sausages looked delicious! I can't wait to go back and try some.

The Rochester area has lots of port towns along the Erie Canal. None, however, are prettier than Fairport, in my opinion. I love walking along the canal path, especial in the summer when the boats are parked along the canal. It's a great way to clear the head and get a little exercise.

This is my favorite time of year in the village of Fairport. Fall foliage coming to an end and waking us into the Holiday season. Nothing quite like the Village Of Fairport around the Holidays!

The other day while getting out of my car I broke the strap on my shoe. This happened to be my favorite pair of shoes that I can not live without. I suppose I could live without them but I just don't want to. Anyway, I brought the shoe to Tony's Shoe Repair on Main Street in the Village of Fairport. Although he was busy, he fixed it in just minutes for nearly pennies. I was in and out of there in about 15 minutes carrying my favorite shoes. Thank you Tony's Shoe Repair for being so quick and accommodating.

Here are some interesting Fairport Fire Department historical facts. They were established as far back as 1877 along with their first parade. They bought their first motorized truck in 1909 and their marching band was formed in 1972. In 2002, they were proud to have celebrated their 125th Anniversary. Thank you Fairport Fire Department for protecting and serving your community for over 137 years!

Mr. Dominic's is not just at the lake anymore. The Village of Fairport welcomes Mr. Dominic's on the Main. Can't wait to try one of my favorite restaurants right here in Fairport now.

The Bistro at Towpath Café is the perfect spot to sit and relax on the Erie Canal. Their spacious outdoor patio makes for a great atmosphere to complement a delicious meal on a warm summer day. The wait staff was very attentive and pleasant to interact with.To add to the charm, most every seat on this patio gives you a beautiful view of the canal and the village of Fairport. When it comes to the food, there are many great options. I went for lunch and ordered the hummus appetizer topped with bruschetta and basil-pesto oil. This dish sounds light, but it was very filling. There was enough to share around the table and it was enjoyed by all. For my entrée I ordered the Benjamin Wright on sourdough - turkey, apples, bacon, cheddar, and cranberry mayonnaise. This was delicious, especially the cranberry mayonnaise. The lunch menu had an entire section for Mac and Cheese which I thought was interesting. My niece tried the Lobster Mac N' Cheese with parmesan bread crumbs - she was in heaven!

Go to The Bistro at Towpath Café for friendly service and a relaxing and tasty summer meal!

Too busy to fit a tennis match in during the day? Fellows Road Park has beautifully lit tennis courts that are open until 10:00 p.m. No reservations needed. If tennis is not your game they have a walking path around the perimeter of the park. You can also catch a local softball game, let the kids romp on the playground or have a picnic in the shelter. Just get out and have some fun!
