Commuting to New York City is so much fun! Said no one, ever. Let's face it, you may or may not love your job but, with the traffic and the pressure, getting there can be the worst part of your day. That's why it's so important to come home to a place that gives you that "Ahhh, I'm home!" sensation. Mount Arlington is the perfect home destination for that relaxing feeling. With numerous lakeside and lake view properties, friendly communities, public and private beaches, your little oasis is waiting for you here, just minutes away from our clean and modern train station. Home sweet home!
  • Lake Rogerene is a private community (with optional and very reasonable yearly association fees). Amenities include swimming (with seasonal lifeguard), picnics, ice cream socials and other fun events. At our recent Family Day picnic, one of my neighbors remarked that our little community was "a step back in time" to days when folks helped each other and watched out for each other. I think that the photo of my neighbor's hands helping to shuck corn for our event typifies this spirit as does the photo with the view of our lake behind the finished product of my neighbors' efforts.

Remember, all of this is one exit away (on Route 80) from the New Jersey Transit trains to New York! Your commute is worth it when your home destination is so lovely and relaxing!

Lake living is the best. Lake living in my small, neighborly community is even better. That feeling is the best part of life in Lake Rogerene. People wave, they say "Hello!" when they're walking their dogs, they pitch in for activities at our club house near the beach. The LRCA (Lake Rogerene Civic Association) runs picnics, ice cream socials and activities for the kids. Our 4th of July parade is a terrific event for families. The children deck out their bikes in red, white and blue and ride around the half mile circle that encompasses our little spring fed "lake" (originally called Mountain Pond, the area was settled in the 1700's by a devout Christian group known as the Rogerenes). Besides these family activities, you can fish (catch and release - some folks even ice fish in winter), take out your canoe or row boat, swim and sun, all right from your front door!
All this and you're just minutes away from supermarkets, shopping centers, restaurants, movies and all the amenities of "city life", without the stress or the traffic.

I'm not just saying this....I live here! I raised my son in Mt. Arlington schools and he is currently pursuing graduate work at Drew University. We both love our home. Currently, there is not a big inventory (who would want to leave?) but I'd love to show you around my neighborhood!

Ok, so it’s not Saturday Night Live, but it is live from NYC every 10 am. It's Times Square Church's first and only satellite campus. Streaming services right from the heart of Manhattan. For 25 years TSC has been at the Mark Hellinger Theater at 51st and Broadway. It is a non denominal Christian church founded by Pastor David Wilkerson. "The Cross and the Switchblade". Lake Hopatcong is a popular destination for boating and fishing. In 1994, Morris County gave the generous gift of Lee's County Park Marina. This was done to ensure the open waters of Lake Hopatcong as a destination to be enjoyed by many. Lee's County Park Marina has 110 boat slips, nine moorings, and three boat launch ramps. The Marina has a waiting list but some of the best prices around and one of the nicest facilities. Check it out and get on the list if you need a nice place to keep your boat for the summer.

The historical marker in front of the Lakeshore Village clubhouse on Bertrand Island Road is the only physical sign of what was once a landmark attraction at Lake Hopatcong. For over 60 years, Bertrand Island Amusement Park in Mount Arlington was a favorite summer destination for visitors from all over the state. Located on the beach, the park at it's height included a diving tower, boat docks, 20 amusement rides and a short boardwalk with arcade games.

Unfortunately, competition from larger amusement parks and Lake Hoptacong's transition to a year-round community prompted the closure of the park in 1983. But many have wonderful memories of the fun times at Bertrand Island Amusement Park!
