Hopewell Valley Art's Council has a fun way to get everyone out to play "Where is Olly?.
They have placed beautifully painted cows all through the Hopewell Valley Region. There are 68 in total and there is an app for the game. You would need a QR code reader or Barcode Scanner to keep track of your findings. I have seen the display before in Stamford, Connecticut.

This art event gives the town a little whimsy and kids love to see all the fun designs that the local artist have made. I hope you win the contest and find all 68. Go to the website below for further details!
  • After nearly a five year wait, the bridge connecting Jacobs Creek Road to Bear Tavern Road and Ewing to Hopewell has finally reopened. At a cost of $6.7 million, the new span has no weight limit and allows for full access to local roads.

This historic area is where General George Washington marched his troops after crossing the Delaware River down to the Battle of Trenton. The old bridge will be retired to the Howell Living History Farm where it can be visited by the 65,000 that visit there each year. Come see the old and the new in Hopewell.

Come out this Sunday evening to experience a cosmic confluence of events while riding your bike on the Lawrence Hopewell Trail! This Sunday, August 10, is when we will see a "super moon" and the Perseid Meteor Showers on the same night. View these two events from your bicycle during the Mercer County Parks Commission's first Super Moon Bike Ride at Mercer Meadows in Rosedale Park in Hopewell. The event starts at 8:30 pm at Rosedale Park and riders will bike through a 6 mile gravel trail loop along the Lawrence Hopewell Trail. At the end, riders will enjoy italian ice and ice cream. Glow sticks will also be provided to all riders. This sounds like a really fun and unique event! The ride is open to everyone 12 years old and up and all riders must wear helmets and pre-register at the link below.

This Saturday's free family program at Howell Living History Farm includes Hog Slopping. The Howell Farm hogs will wade out of their wallows, shuffle down a chute and step onto the scales. The weigh-in is open to the public, which is invited to join farmers as they wash and weigh hogs, slop hogs, and of course, call hogs.

Kids can help farmers with pig chores: mixing feed and filling wallows. Hog weighing will take place during the day. Prizes will be offered to visitors who come closest to guessing the pigs' weights.
