Of all the historic neighborhoods in our historic state, the Boonton Park Section is one of my favorites. The Park offers the best of traditional architecture - including stately Colonials, fairy tale Tudors and gingerbread Victorians. Old growth trees shade the streets; giving this neighborhood a picturesque, Norman Rockwell.

The Park section isn't just famed for its arbored beauty, though. There is a real park. The streets of this neighborhood back to Grace Lord Park - laid out in the late 1800's by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who designed Central Park. Their design for this local treasure highlights the Rockaway River and its beautiful 25 foot plunge at Boonton Falls. Grace Lord Park is a great place to picnic and offers a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, fish and birding, in addition to a fountain, swings, play area, and gazebo. The Park also hosts Boonton's Summer Concert series; which takes place weekly throughout June and July.

Having lived in Boonton Township for 27 years, raising my three children and building a home in "One of Gods Best Kept Secrets", Boonton Township is a wonderful quiet town. A truly well located town in Morris County with good taxes and a great school system.

The High School is Mountain Lakes High School from Grades 9-12. Boonton Township and Mountain Lakes just signed another ten years for a sending receiving relationship with the students from Boonton Township. This is a win win for all students, not only to go to a top notch school but to interact with students from Mt. Lakes HS.

This beautiful town offers a variety of home styles, from luxury homes, to farms, to affordable first time buyers.

Boonton Township has a wonderful warm feel and is located close to all major highways.

While growing up in Boonton, our trips to Main Street usually consisted of a visit to the bank, the hardware store or the local movie theater, the State Theater. How times have changed! While I was in high school, it seemed like every other shop on Main Street was an antique dealer and Boonton became known for its variety of antique treasures. Over the past 15 or so years, though, there have been several changes, and I think most of them for the better. Woolworth's has been replaced by a karate studio, the old Victorian brick firehouse/police station in the center of town has been transformed to a jazz club. There are coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants offering Thai food, sushi, Columbian food, Mexican, Italian and even Afghan food. The Holmes Library has had a face lift, and looks better then ever. I was showing homes in Boonton on a warm Friday evening this past summer, and we could hear live music from the direction of Main Street. There was an art festival on every sidewalk in town, with displays of local art, and people milling about everywhere. What a charming way to spend a summer evening!

With excellent access to highways, New Jersey Transit, and less than a half hour to Newark Liberty Airport, Boonton is a great location to visit or settle down in!
