Berlin Boro is one of those towns that families tend to stay in, as each generation grows. That says a lot about a great small town.

High School students have the great advantage of going to Eastern High School located in Voorhees which can be viewed on schools.com. Located within 45 minutes of the beaches, 20 minutes from Philadelphia and only minutes to the high speed line for those commutes to NY. Berlin is home of the Berlin Farmers Market where great local businesses, baked goods, meat and seafood are available in addition to weekend flea markets. Gloucester Township Shoppes are only 10 minutes away where you can enjoy Premium Outlet Stores, an outside fire pit and much more.

Howard and Nan's Record Shop, an old style music store opened since 1952, will take you into a great journey through time. The ceiling full of genuine old posters alone is amazing. Looking through thousands of old vinyl records will take you through time and the old music artifacts are absolutely great. Of course, they have cds, old and new, old tapes and musical instruments, including electric and acoustic guitars, drums, ukuleles, flutes, tropical fun party maracas, harmonicas, trombones, trumpets, saxophones, tambourines, auto harps, keyboards and much more. They also have all the accessories you need. You could look through things for hours and enjoy it. If you like music, come to this place. You will feel like you are in a museum. The Berlin Farmers Market is a Berlin/South Jersey landmark that opened in 1940. It is known to locals or anyone in the Berlin area as the “Auction”, “the Mart” and the “Berlin Auction”. The Berlin Farmers Market has been owned and run by the Giberson Family for three generations. It began as a livestock and produce auction and has evolved into an indoor market where you can buy just about anything. There are over 85 stores with discount prices and something for everyone. Some of the features include an old fashioned butcher shop, produce, candy, floor coverings, furniture, jewelry, footwear, leather goods, automotive supplies, and brand name clothing for the entire family, just to name a few.
The outdoor flea market is an adventure in people watching and treasure hunting. Every Saturday and Sunday more than 700 vendors sell just about everything. Multifamily yard sales are a weekly event

Berlin Park is a great location for just about all outdoor activities. The head waters of the Great Egg Harbor River set the tone and layout of the park. It has almost five miles of trails throughout the park including crossing the Great Egg Harbor River over four separate bridges. Half the trails wind through wooded, protected wet lands that make for a relaxing stroll or a cool place for a run on a warm day.

Looking for more vigorous activities, check out the lighted tennis courts that actually have a great water front view. A short walk up one of the trails and you will find yourself at a full basketball court. There are also two softball fields. And just across the bridge you will find an in-line/street hockey rink, plus a sand volleyball court.

The park isn't all about courts, rinks and fields. There are also two playgrounds that are good for kids of all ages along with three picnic groves.

As kids growing up in Berlin we always fished at Berlin Park. We didn't know it was the Great Egg Harbor River. Thirty years later I still see kids fishing in those same spots that my friends and I fished.
