Responsibilities:
Geoff Lewis leads the Legal Department as it delivers top-quality, informed and user-friendly legal services to RE/MAX, LLC, its divisions and affiliated companies.
RE/MAX career:
Geoff joined RE/MAX World Headquarters as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Less than a year later in 2005, he was promoted to Chief Legal Officer.
Roots:
He earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 1980, a Juris Doctorate in 1983 from the University of Virginia, and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in 1994.
Geoff practiced law for six years in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions while with the international law firm of Jones Day in Los Angeles, Calif., until 1991.
He was also Vice President and General Counsel of American Health Properties, a New York Stock Exchange-listed company in Greenwood Village, Colo., for four years, where he dealt extensively with securities regulations, public and private securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and a variety of other related disciplines.
Prior to joining RE/MAX, Geoff was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel for Hyster-Yale, Inc., in Portland, Ore., a $2 billion company engaged in worldwide manufacturing, marketing and sales of industrial trucks. He also managed the firm's law and risk department.
Personal:
Geoff speaks, reads and writes fluently in French. He enjoys skiing, waterskiing, hiking and dirt biking. He and his wife have three sons and live in the Denver area.
