Gail Liniger is actively involved in day-to-day operations at RE/MAX World Headquarters. She constantly has her finger on the pulse of departmental and companywide initiatives. Her presence and leadership fortify an office culture of collaboration, productivity, gratitude and giving.
After being injured in a small-plane crash in 1983, Gail overcame incredible odds to reclaim her leadership role at RE/MAX and help turn RE/MAX into the number one real estate franchisor. Her courageous recovery is an inspiration to those both inside and outside the RE/MAX organization.
Gail moved to Denver in 1973 and became the first RE/MAX employee. The same year, she was promoted to Vice President. She became Executive Vice President in 1978 and President in 1979. In 1991, she was named Chief Executive Officer and in 2002 became Vice Chair of the Board.
A licensed Colorado real estate broker, Gail holds several real estate designations, including Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Brokerage Manager (CRB) and Quality Service Certified (QSC).
Gail has been recognized as one of the top 10 U.S. women for her outstanding achievement in business, the arts, and public service. She was awarded "Entrepreneur of the Year" for the State of Colorado, in the real estate and construction category, by the international accounting firm Ernst & Young and Inc. Magazine. From a national field of nearly 8,000 participants, she was named first runner-up.
Gail is an avid golfer, and she and her husband, Dave, own Sanctuary Golf Course, where numerous charity golf tournaments have raised more than $60 million for charities. She is also co-founder of the Denver-area conservation center The Wildlife Experience, an entirely new concept for appreciating and understanding wildlife. The 14-acre, 111,000-square-foot facility is designed as a quality venue for exceptional cultural exhibits, an educational center for all ages and an ideal gathering place for social, civic and business activities. The Wildlife Experience promotes wildlife and the many forms of art that celebrate it.
Gail has been instrumental in establishing a culture of giving across the RE/MAX network. Most notably, she and Dave championed the RE/MAX sponsorship of Children's Miracle Network in 1992, then Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 2002. In 2011, Gail and Dave were presented the prestigious Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Founder's Award (an award that only five other individuals had received) for their example and leadership that led to RE/MAX Associates surpassing $100 million in donations to the children's hospitals foundation. To date, RE/MAX Associates have donated more than $115 million.
Gail was born in St. Louis, Mo., and earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Prior to joining RE/MAX, Gail was a Customer Service Department Supervisor with the Ralston Purina Company.
Gail and Dave reside in Castle Pines, Colo., and love to visit Scottsdale, Ariz., as often as possible. Gail is a big fan of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, and she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, especially golf. Her crowning achievement in golf came in 2003, when she hit her first hole-in-one at Sanctuary. The Linigers also breed Arabian horses.
